Annual Communication Survey Annual Communication Survey Grand Lodge Annual Communication Survey * Dear Brother,First, thank you for taking the time to participate in this survey. The purpose of this survey is to present various options for improving future Annual Communications of our Grand Lodge – your feedback is very important to us in this undertaking!Thank you again,John May, Grand Treasurer Name * Lodge * How do we pay for the Annual Communication? * Our Annual Communications are paid for by the members in attendance. Namely, the registration fees cover much of the printing costs, GL coin, and hotel expenses (AV, tech support, etc.) related to the Annual Communication. Meal costs are based off the cost of the individual meal and associated service fees for the meal (most hotels charge around 25% on top of the list price of the meal). That check you cut to Grand Lodge to attend the Annual Communication is passed through to pay for the event – our aim is the break even. Does Per Capita cover the Annual Communication? * No. Per Capita covers the annual operating expenses of our Grand Lodge, such as insurance, taxes, and the Grand Lodge Office. These hotels offer event space for the Annual Communication sessions, ballrooms for the evening dinners, meeting rooms for committees, suites for hospitality, as well as lodging for our membership. These hotels are full service with in-house catering. A contract with these hotels typically requires meeting criteria of a food and beverage minimum, as well as minimum rooms night rented – both of which are always a concern. The cost of our Annual Communications runs between $20k to $35k.
