During the 1983 Grand Lodge session, Most Worshipful Brother Charles S. Moulthrop, Jr., Grand Master of Michigan (one of the four Grand Masters that helped in constituting the Grand Lodge of Alaska presented Most Worshipful Brother James A. Williams with two plaques.
Their purpose was to promote recognition among the lodges in the matter of raising candidates and increasing membership. This first plaque of two was named in honor of Alaska’s first Grand Master, M.W.Bro. James A. Williams. This plaque is awarded to the lodge that has raised the most Master Masons the previous year.
